Citizens of the Sea is proud to announce funding by the Vendee Globe Foundation to collaborate with skipper Fabrice Amedeo in 2026.

This project aims to reveal the biological dimension of ocean observation through the collection of environmental DNA (eDNA) during offshore races.

Building on data collected during the Vendée Globe 2024, the project will analyse major patterns of marine biodiversity, develop an interactive dashboard for the general public, and test a new generation of automated eDNA samplers. This work will pave the way for their deployment on multiple boats during the Vendée Globe 2028.
